Why It Feels So Heavy

When your nervous system has been under strain for a long time, even small things can start to feel overwhelming. What you’re experiencing is often what happens when stress has been carried for too long without enough support. The irony is that your system is trying to protect you, relying on patterns that once helped but are no longer serving you.

  • Trapped by your own mind and body.
  • Life is passing you by while you’re just trying to survive.
  • Confused or frustrated that nothing seems to help.

Your Path to Healing: What Therapy With Me Often Looks Like

Therapy isn’t linear, and there’s no single path. These themes often emerge over time, at a pace that feels manageable.

1. Assessment — Seeing the Whole Picture

In this stage, we will gain a holistic view of the issue at hand.

We will also explore your strengths and values, ensuring that your treatment goals align with what you truly desire in life.

2. Safety & Stabilization — Regaining Calm

In this stage, we will work towards a trusting and caring relationship.

You will learn grounding techniques, develop coping skills, and feel more settled.

This is the stage where you will learn practical techniques that will signal to your body that you are okay, and there is no need for full-on physical symptoms disrupting your daily life.

3. Processing — Working Through Pain

In this stage we will address the pain you’ve been holding.

We will process that pain by naming it and validating it by giving it the space to be expressed.

We will also do body work to ensure the pain you’ve been carrying is released from your body – you will get a chance to put down that heavy load that’s been draggin you down.

4. Presence & Self-Acceptance — Living in the Moment

This stage focuses on breaking free from negative thinking, self-criticism, and self-defeating beliefs. As you develop a more balanced view of yourself, others, and the world, you naturally cultivate greater self-acceptance and the ability to live fully in the present.

5. Resilience & Peace of Mind — Strength That Lasts

In this final stage, you’ll bring everything together, integrating your new perspectives and behaviours into everyday life. You’ve likely begun this process along the way, but lasting change takes practice, and I’ll be there to support you if any bumps arise along the way.

What Often Changes With Support

Over time, therapy can support meaningful changes in how you relate to yourself, how you respond to stress, and how much space difficult experiences occupy.

Common changes that occur:

    • A greater sense of calm in your body, rather than feeling constantly tense or on edge

    • Improved sleep over time, with nights that feel more restorative

    • Feeling more connected to the people you care about

    • Increased focus and motivation at work or at home

    • A growing sense of hope about the future, with less pull from the past

I Can Help You Break The Cycle

Are You Feeling Stuck in the Same Patterns?

The quiet ache of not feeling good enough. Old hurts that still carry weight. A body that stays tense, alongside a mind that rarely gets a break.

These aren’t small frustrations. Over time, they can leave you feeling worn down and stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. When everything feels heavy, it can be hard to know how to move forward or where to begin.

The Cost of Staying Status Quo:

      • Cancel plans and isolate yourself.
      • Stay stuck in racing thoughts or replaying memories.
      • Carry unwarranted guilt
      • Put goals and dreams on hold “until you feel better.”
      • Carry tension in your body as if it’s normal.

      You deserve better.
